The following is a list of courses that FuneralDirectEd is currently providing along with the number of credits and price for each.

A brief explanation follows each course. If you want to order the course content, simply click on the desired course. You will then be sent to the order form. Fill out the order form and click on the submit button.

You can pay for the course by check, then send the test sheet accompanied by a check to the designated address. The test will be graded automatically on line. We will be notified of the score, after passing the course and receiving payment, FuneralDirectEd will mail you a certificate.

The following is a list of states and the number of continuing education credits required with each licensee renewal application.

Arizona- 12 credits every 1 year. These include: 3 Mortuary Science, 3 Legal Compliance and Ethics, and 6 Professional Development.

Arkansas- 2 credits from home study per year.

Delaware- 10 credits every 2 years.

Florida- 14 credits every 2 years (2 of which are HIV / AIDS and Communicable Disease).

Georgia- 10 credits every 2 years.

Illinois-

Iowa-

Kansas- 12 credits every 2 years. 6 can be from home study.

Kentucky- 4 credits every year.

Maine- 12 credits every 2 years.

Massachusetts- 5 credits every year.

Montana- 6 hours with renewal application.

Nebraska- 4 credits every 2 years.

New Hampshire- 15 credits every 2 years.

New Jersey- 12 credits every 2 years.

New Mexico- 15 credits every 2 years.

Ohio- 6 credits every 2 years.

South Carolina- 3 hours every year.

Texas- 16 credits every year.

Utah- 20 credits every 2 years.

Vermont- 10 credits every 2 years.

Washington- 10 hours every 2 years. 7 1/2 within first 2 years.

Wisconsin- 15 credits in each biennial registration period with no more than 10 from home study.

Course List

HIV / AIDS - Includes the most recent information crucial for the funeral industry, 1 credit ($25.00).

Communicable Disease - Includes information on Hepatitis and the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard CFR.1910-1030. All information in specifically for the funeral industry, 1 credit ($25.00).

Bio Medical Waste - This involves the necessary training that is required by the state (Florida) health department. The FAC 64E-16 regulates all bio medical waste. Storage, labeling, methods of sanitation, transportation and definitions are discussed, 2 credits ($25.00).

OSHA - This meets the required annual training and discusses all of the most current information. Also informs the funeral home of what is required for compliance, 3 credits ($38.00)

ADA - Discusses what is required by public businesses. Assists in determining what your company needs to be in compliance, 2 credits ($25.00).

Resistant Bacteria - Outlines some bacteria that exist and are resistant to medication. Stresses importance of sanitation in the preproom, thus reducing your risk of exposure, 3 credits ($38.00).

FTC - Focuses on pricing merchandise and general price list, 2 credits ($25.00).

Record Keeping - Discusses the required records that must be kept and how to maintain them, 2 credits ($25.00).

The following courses were all created in order to assist funeral homes to increase organization, phone skills and letter preparation. Very useful!

The following courses are 3 credits each and cost $38.00 each.

The cost of this service will depend on the number of funeral directors and exposed staff members ( in Florida, non-licensed staff members which are exposed to the deceased, will have to have the HIV-Communicable Disease course).
